- I’m so ready to be home. To the point where I’m getting lax around here. I’m not proud of it. But it’s happening. Please forgive me.
- That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped baking though! I’ve been busy perfecting my chocolate cake recipe – making it once for a coworker and again for a regular customer who also had birthdays. Just trying to make December birthdays a little better, you know?
- In addition to not writing as much right now, I also haven’t packed yet.
- Or finished wrapping presents. Why do I do this to myself.
- Remember the Christmas party I talked about last week? My Secret Santa got me the absolute perfect gift! Succulents! I’m trying to get a greener thumb now that I’m a ~homeowner~ but haven’t been having the best lucky. She, on the other hand, is super skilled, to the point of being able to grow her only succulents from little leaf pieces of other succulents. She’s also a very talented artist and painted the little pots in the most adorable patterns. Ugh. Some people really get with both hands, don’t they.
- I sorted Leonard into his Hogwarts House. He’s a Hufflepuff! Just like me! I had no doubt. What House are you in?!
- We’re doing a Christmas Eve brunch at my sister’s on Saturday. I’m so excited! I’ll be making my family biscuits and gravy and grits for the first time. They have no idea what’s about to hit them. There will also be eggnog waffles and maple whiskey bacon.
- I also fully intend to partake in at least one supper club and one fish fry whilst home.
