The top image shows a drinking glass filled with squares of cut jello shots. The bottom image shows heart-shaped jello shots. They are the same flavor of strawberry rosé.

Delightfully pink and deliciously sweet, these Strawberry Rosé Jello Shots are made with strawberry jello and your favorite bottle of rosé wine. A little extra gelatin helps the shots keep their shape when cut from the pan. As a bonus, they’re sturdy enough to be poured into festive molds like hearts for Valentine’s Day!

No need to add any vodka or booze to this easy jello recipe, the wine packs more than a potent punch! Seriously.

The more I make jello shots the more I love them. They’re so easy to make and even easier to consume! It’s definitely a toss-up for me which I love more, these pink jello shots or my champagne jello shots.

    Recipe Ingredients

    • Rosé Wine – Choose your favorite bottle. Something light and bright. Something acidic or smooth. Something sweet or dry, whatever you prefer to pour.
    • Strawberry Jello – To compliment the berry notes of the rosé. Read below for info on subbing a different flavor if you’d like.
    • Gelatin – A little plain gelatin means these shots set up quickly and are strong enough to hold up to cutting or fancy molds.

    Making Pink Jello Shots

This is just a brief overview, find detailed instructions in the recipe card below!

    1. Soften the plain gelatin. In a little bit of chilled rosé.
    2. Combine with strawberry jello mix. This is done by using steaming hot wine to help all the gelatin dissolve.
    3. Add more wine! The best step in the recipe lol.
    4. Allow to chill. Until totally set. Then serve and enjoy (responsibly).
Soften the unflavored gelatin in rosé wine.
Add the strawberry jello mix once softened.
    Then add the warmed wine.
Whisk to dissolve all the jello.
    Add more wine!
    Chill until set and enjoy!

    Jello Flavor Substitutions

I love making these jello shots with strawberry jello because it complements the flavors of my favorite rosés so nicely.

A lot of rosé wine has notes of strawberry, so it was really a no brainer. However, some also have tasting notes of raspberry, watermelon, and more!

If you don’t like strawberry jello, feel free to substitute raspberry, watermelon, or even cherry in this wine jello shot recipe.

In fact, I made a batch with raspberry jello for my sister because she is allergic to strawberries. It’s also why I make her raspberry pretzel jello salad.

    Jello Shot Success Tips

Mix well. Make sure the gelatin is fully dissolved in the hot liquid before adding the cool liquid, otherwise the shots won’t properly set.

Spray the pan. Or the mold. Whatever you’ll be pouring the jello into you want to make sure is covered in a very light coat of baking spray so that the shots slide out easily. Also be sure to coat your knife in baking spray when cutting!

Fully chill. These shots set up in about 3 – 4 hours so plan accordingly for your party or festivities. You can also make them a day or two in advance as they keep for a few days!

But once your guests get a taste, they won’t last long!

    Equipment

    • 9x9 Square Pan
    • Small Saucepan
    • Measuring Cups

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups rosé wine (or one standard 750 milliliter bottle which is 25 ounces)
    • ¼ ounce unflavored gelatin (or 1 envelop of Knox unflavored gelatin)
    • 3 ounces strawberry jello mix (one small box)

    Instructions

    • Lightly coat a 9x9 square baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
    • In a large measuring cup (such as a 4-cup measure), add ½ cup of chilled rosé and sprinkle the gelatin over the top. Allow the gelatin to bloom for 5 minutes. Then top with the strawberry jello mix.
    • While the gelatin blooms, add another 1 cup champagne to a small saucepan. Set over medium heat and bring to a near boil (you don’t want the wine to boil, or it’ll lose alcohol content. Watch it closely.)
    • Once the rosé is steaming hot, pour over the bloomed gelatin and strawberry jello. Whisk until the gelatin is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes.
    • Pour the rest of the bottle of wine into the gelatin mixture, mixing until well combined.
    • Pour the jello shots into the prepared pan.
    • Chill in fridge until shots are set, at least 3-4 hours, or overnight.
    • When ready to serve, coat a sharp knife in cooking spray and cut into squares. Enjoy!
    • Alternatively: shots can be poured into molds lightly coated in cooking spray and refrigerated until set. To de-mold the shots, just flip over the mold and gently press to release.
