In a small saucepan combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup water, 2 tablespoon pumpkin puree, 1 ½ tsp. pumpkin pie spice, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar has completely dissolved. About five minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature before storing in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator until ready to use.
