You'll need red wine, heavy cream, sugar, butter and water.

Reduce the wine.
By boiling it in a small pot on the stove. This will take about 15 minutes.

Boil the sugar and water.
Until the sugar is totally dissolved and turns a deep amber color.

Add the reduced wine.
Carefully! Whisk it into the caramelized sugar. It will bubble and steam and harden immediately. Keep stirring, it will smooth out.
