My best friend, Mandy, took some of these lovely photos.
And some of the not-so-lovely ones. (Real life, what’re ya gonna do?)
My husband’s (gosh, that’s fun to say!) friend, Josh, took some too.
We are slowly but surely setting up our new life together. That includes packing up everything Edgar and I own and moving it down to the Lake to be with Seth. It’s going to take time. And patience. And lots of boxes. But, as with everything else that’s been happening around here – it’ll get done. (To offer a very quick update: in a matter of eight weeks I have started a new job, planned the wedding with Seth, then had the wedding, only to then move to Seth’s, and finally travel to Europe.) And it’ll be wonderful. Just like our wedding day.
The amount of hugs I have given and received this week is unreal. So many good squeezes from so many good people.
Seth and I are getting massages today! He’s never had one and I haven’t had one in nearly a year. Truly treating ourselves on this trip.
My cousin Elizabeth was kind enough to take some simple engagement photos for us to use on our save the dates and invites. We dressed up and walked around a lake and I only started bawling once because I just love Seth so much.
Also, if you like goat soap check out her shop! She’s a scent wizard! And very good goat herdress.
I’ll be making a variation of my pecan pie for my aunt tomorrow. Instead of a regular pie plate, I throw the mix in a rectangular baking pan. It produces a thinner, chewier bar that’s so easy to snack on. It’s her favorite thing I bake and the family deserves a treat after letting us crash all week.
Bunny got me to eat chili last night. And it was delicious! Because there weren’t any beans in it.
It was the fifteenth anniversary of Elf earlier this week. Can’t believe I’ve been enjoying the antics of Buddy for over half my life. ‘Tis (about to be) the season!
I cannot believe that it’s been two months since I started Layer Cake Mondays. And I cannot believe that the wedding I started the whole thing for came and went this weekend.
However, I can believe that in the midst of all that hubbub, the March Madness tourney being held in town, and Northwestern’s nail-biting defeat during a particularly hectic shift last night that I completely forgot to whip up a new layer cake to share with y’all. Whoops.
Instead, look at these photos of the cake and cupcakes I made to celebrate Annie and David’s union!
